FAQ

Do I have to pay duties and taxes?
To create a better delivery experience for you, we ship all international orders Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). By shipping DDP, duties and taxes are collected directly at checkout so that your package is not stopped and held by customs.

Please note that duties and taxes assessed by customs vary by country and product.

How can I track my package?
Once your order has been fulfilled, you will receive an email from us with your tracking information. You can track the progress of your order directly on your Old Salt Coffee tracking page.

When will I receive my order?
We want you to receive your order as fast as possible!

International orders are typically delivered within 8 -14 business days once the order has been fulfilled. Once your order has been fulfilled, the estimated delivery date will be shown on your tracking page.

My package seems to have stopped moving.
If your package stops moving at any point, do not fret! It is still on its way to you and is likely just clearing customs. Occasionally, there may be delays due to customs or weather events. If this happens, your tracking page will be updated with the latest shipping status.

At any time, if you have a shipping related question you can reach out via your tracking page (‘Need Help’ button) or via email at help@passportshipping.com.
Where is your coffee made?
Our exceptional coffee is sourced from Colombia, Ethiopia, and Kona (HI). We meticulously select single source roasts and blends, roasting them to our exacting standards. Our roaster, located in California, adheres to all state, national, and industry requirements.

Do you provide discounts for military, police, first responders, or teachers?
Absolutely! We offer a 10% discount to all military personnel, veterans, first responders, and teachers through the GovX ID program. To access the discount, simply click the link on our website.

Do you offer free shipping?
Absolutely! When your order total, after discounts, reaches $70 or more, you're eligible for free shipping. It's important to note that all print-on-demand items, including stickers and apparel, come with free shipping. So if you decide to add some of our newer mugs along with those products, you won't be charged for shipping any of them.

Do you offer subscriptions?
Absolutely! When selecting your desired coffee, make sure to choose the subscription option before adding it to your cart. You'll then be prompted to choose the frequency of coffee deliveries. As an added perk, you'll receive a 10% discount on your subscription. Please note that free shipping applies only if your subscription, after applying the discount, exceeds $70.

I own a small or medium-sized business and want to sell or brew your coffee. Do you sell to wholesale customers?
Yes, we do! Simply scroll to the bottom of our main website and click the WHOLESALE link. You'll be directed to provide some information or, if you already have an account, to contact us directly. We will ensure you're a legitimate wholesale customer by collecting the necessary data. Once confirmed, you'll gain access to our wholesale portal.

Why is shipping expensive? I can't afford to pay a high shipping cost.
We strive to offer competitive shipping rates, but unfortunately, shipping expenses are an integral part of maintaining our business. To provide our products and services, we need to charge for shipping. However, if your order totals $70 or more after discounts, we'll happily provide free shipping. This applies to standard shipping only. Feel free to select a faster shipping method, but note that it will incur a shipping charge.

Do you have an espresso roast?
At Old Salt Coffee Company, we don't label any of our blends as "espresso roast." We firmly believe that any coffee, regardless of roast level, can create an exceptional espresso. Espresso is a brewing method rather than a specific type of coffee or roast. That said, we offer a range of roasts from light to dark, each capable of producing a unique and delicious espresso. For a bold and robust flavor, consider our darker roasts like "Silent Service" and "Green Eyes." If you prefer a balanced flavor with some brightness, our medium-dark roast "Haze Gray" might be perfect for you. We encourage you to explore different roasts to discover the flavors and profiles you enjoy most in your espresso. And remember, we're here to guide you on your coffee journey!

Do you have decaf coffee available?
You must be joking, right? We fully understand that some individuals have dietary restrictions, and we respect that completely - always follow your doctor's advice! However, part of our ethos is rooted in the countless days and hours spent on watch. If someone on watch were given decaf, it would have been seen as a mischievous prank. Therefore, we do not offer decaf coffee, as it would somewhat undermine the essence of enjoying a cup of coffee.

Are your coffee beans organic?
While our coffee beans are free of unnatural chemicals, we currently do not hold an organic certification. We take pride in not adding anything to our coffee, and the only "treatment" our green coffee beans receive is through the roasting process.

Can I choose the grind size for my coffee?
We offer both ground and whole bean options. If you use a drip coffee maker, either option should work fine. However, if you require a specific grind size, we recommend purchasing whole beans and grinding them to your desired specifications at home.

Are your coffee bags recyclable?
Unfortunately, our coffee bags are not currently recyclable. If you have a preference for recyclable packaging, please reach out to us and let us know. We can explore options, but do keep in mind that recyclable packaging may increase costs due to its limited availability and higher production expenses.

What is the shelf life of your coffee?
Each bag of coffee is labeled with a production date. Ideally, we recommend enjoying the coffee within one year of the production date or within one month after opening the bag. However, if the bag remains sealed, you may find that the coffee can last longer than one year. It's important to note that roasted coffee contains natural oils and volatile compounds, and once opened, the oils may go rancid over time as the product oxidizes.

Can I return or exchange a coffee product if I'm not satisfied?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds for products that are not damaged. However, if your coffee arrives damaged, please provide us with a photo and description of the issue, and we will gladly send you a replacement.

Are your coffee products suitable for use in a French press?
Our ground coffee is suitable for use in a drip coffee maker, which is the most common type found in households. However, we offer all our products in whole bean variants, allowing you to grind the beans to your preferred size for various brewing methods, including French press.

Can I purchase Old Salt Coffee products in physical retail stores?
At this time, we do not have physical retail stores. However, you may find our coffee available in several gift shops. Check out the Dolphin Store in Pearl Harbor, the Battleship Cove gift shop in Fall River, Massachusetts, or the USS New Jersey gift shop in Camden, New Jersey.

Are your coffee blends suitable for espresso machines?
Absolutely! We love using our coffee to make espresso. Simply select the whole bean option when adding it to your cart, and grind the beans to your desired level for your espresso machine.

Can I purchase Old Salt Coffee products as a gift for someone?
Certainly! When you check out on our website, you can indicate that the purchase is a gift and provide the appropriate shipping information for the recipient. You even have the option to add a gift note if desired.

Do you offer any sampler packs for customers to try different blends?
Currently, we do not offer sampler packs. However, we appreciate your feedback, and it is something we are considering for the future as soon as it becomes feasible.

Are there any special promotions or discounts available for bulk orders?
For bulk orders, we have a wholesale portal available on our website. Feel free to explore it and contact us with your estimated purchase quantity, and we may be able to provide you with better pricing than the MSRP listed on our website.

Can I purchase Old Salt Coffee products in larger quantities for events or gatherings?
Absolutely! If you reach out to us with the estimated purchase quantity, we can discuss options for larger quantities and provide you with pricing that suits your needs.

Are your coffee products fair trade certified?
Currently, our coffee products are not fair trade certified. However, we always value customer feedback and strive to offer products that align with our customers' preferences. If fair trade certification is important to you, please let us know so we can gauge the level of interest and explore potential options.
